Significant Repair - Only 28,000 miles - Rear Differential

My ‘17 has 155k miles. Started groaning during slow turns 200 miles ago. Had it in for the blower recall and mentioned it. They called and told me $2500 as the diff was shot and needed rebuilding. Two bottles of 75/85 and friction modifier and groaning sound is gone.

GD part number tail light pigtail

There’s nothing else it can be. Prefer to order a new one vs get another potentially bad one. Plus I can test it and it can work. Then later it stops working. I can get it working, bundle it all up, it still works. Turn off truck. Turn on next day. Doesn't work. Or maybe it does work, then it...

GD part number tail light pigtail

After hours of searching I can’t find this part. Anytime I think I do it says not compatible. 2017 Expedition Left rear taillight. I have the socket that holds the bulb. I need this piece that plugs into the socket and delivers the juice. Sometimes the light/blinker works. Sometimes it...

    To the Max or Not?

Haven’t had a short explorer but we went from a Dodge Caravan to an XLT for two reasons: space and tow. Two adults, two kids in car seats, two Irish setters. Dogs take up the space behind the third row. It’s still large enough to throw a bag or two back there with them. Non XLT and it would...

What tuner would you recommend for improved fuel economy - 2013 Expedition

I just averaged 19.4 interstate driving SC to NC running 70-75 over 400 miles one day trip. I take awhile to get to 70 but once there I read traffic like Helen Keller reads braille and usually avoid braking and weave through traffic like a threaded needle. I’m usually faster in the right lane...

    2017 Expedition EL

New member with new to me black Expedition EL Limited with 144k miles. Hello from central SC. Been on the lookout for something to replace my Grand Caravan which I never liked. Wanted ability to carry sheets of plywood without removing seats and carry wife, two small kids, two dogs, and the...

2016 Limited short wheel base 100,000K check in/report

I’d change transmission fluid and filter. Pretty easy. I just did mine (new to me w/144k). Fluid was old but didn’t smell. I also swapped out my pan for one with a drain plug. I’m going to run another 5k miles and drain and fill again. There’s videos on how to do it. Running aluminum foil...

Rear wiper fluid leak into cargo area

^ true. I forgot about that part. I did remove the taillight assembly (3rd light) and then the upper cross trim piece. I was able to blow mine clear by mouth. Once you have good airflow through the washer nozzle you can reconnect the hose. I attached a photo showing about where the hard line...

Rear wiper fluid leak into cargo area

I just bought a used Limited EL and same thing happened. If you pull down the top rear cross trim piece you should be able to access it. It’s a bad design. The hose to the washer only pushes into the main hose. When the washer gets blocked (mine was), the pressure forces the hose apart. If...
