I offroad my 2008 pretty good (not rock crawl) its not the extended length version. I have never had an issue or gotten stuck. I have beat up my OEM running boards but I just patched then up.
Just have the readylift 3/2 spacer kit on OEM struts. Running method 18” wheels on cooper all terrains...
thanks all- I can take the good and the bad.
Got a chance to use this tank this weekend- took the kids to the family ranch for some good old fashion horse back riding.
Used the spray nozzle to wash off hands, bbq utensils and even did some moderate off-roading as the road in was all washed...
Thanks- looking forward to hitting the beach. This is the first hidden tank I have made so pretty stocked it came out like that. Im gonna make a new level gauge cover out of aluminum once I have some leftover from a job. Gonna sit lower and more streamlined
I know- You loose the subwoofer, well as of now, the wife dont care and it does not bother me. I can make a box for it later if wanted. Its a 7 gallon tank. I 3d scanned the area before making a cardboard template that turned into this aluminum tank. This gravity feeds the pump on a simple key...
Hello all- got around to making a hidden tank that sits in the drivers side wheel well space. We go alot to the beach so this will workout well for rinsing off.
The rear gear is 3.73, honestly I have not floored it since buying it. It does pass great and does not feel slugish while passing.
This past weekend I went on a hunting trip and my thermostat got stuck open. Im sure this did not help my milage. However I just kept it in 4hi and put in 40 miles...
Update on my real world MPG’s.
Just came back from a elk hunting trip that included towing a popup trailer loaded with camping/ hunting gear and 14 gallons fresh water and 25 gallons on board gen purpose water. 4 peeps, 4 coolers full of ice. On top in the roof rack was a floor jack thats...
Actually, I had my weekly dumb moment. Forgot all about the tryed and true method of finding the actual MPG. At my next fill up Im going to reset my mile trip counter and just note how much gallons it takes to fill up at the next fillup. This gallons divided by my milage on my trip counter will...
Funny you mention the rack. The milage pre rack was 12.1mpg and now its 11.8mpg so not a big leep.
On my recent hunting trip I had a whole bunch of crap strapped ontop, from tent to propane tank to spare tire and foldup cots. Still the same 11.8mpg.
Full tank range is 303 miles, this really...
Alright, looking for real mpg numbers to compare them against mines. I have been doing some 500 mike trips on my 5.4 2007 ssv, to both the beach and a hunting trip. The beach trip was pretty flat driving with AC on all the time. The hunting trip was a mix of elevation changes and alot of 4lo...
Also to round everything up installed and finally wired up the aux lights on the roof rack.
Now its just time to stock up the coolers and get ready to enjoy some much needed beach relaxing.
Also add and wired up the rear seats stow/ unstow switch just for ease of confort. Also started and installed a 20 gallon water tank with 12v pump/spray nozzle for outdoor showering that just sits in the reused “armrest” holder that got siliconed glued to the top of the tank. I keep the tank...
