It’s possible, I hear a tiny tick when it starts. Could be an exhaust leak and it stops from it expanding and closing gap. Thank you for the idea!- GDIMammothTank

What I kept reading online is if you can do the first 6 you can do the last 2. Let me warn you, you will want a swivel, and a place you can curse. The fuel smell came back so… oof. No CEL and I didn’t use a torque wrench to put them in but it was smooth otherwise. I’m dreading doing the driver...- GDIMammothTank

Plugs were a little dirty, worth the $125? Idk yet. First start up had no smell of fuel though…. For now….- GDIMammothTank

Getting a yummy, not good though, fuel smell when I start the 2012 5.4l Triton up. Going to replace spark plugs as a precaution and hope that does it. Also dropped in mpg from around 14 in the city to barely 11. Just hit 203,940 and didn’t see the last time plugs were changed on the carfax so...- GDIMammothTank

Sweet, thank you. My wife and I drive them almost daily. The F150 gets driven maybe 3 days a week sometimes and is still fine. It has a Motocraft AGM battery- GDIMammothTank

Does AGM (I think that’s the battery type in my new F150) have a better survival rate in harsh swings of weather? I sit 2-5 times a week for an hour in the Expedition watching Bluey on the DVD player in it with my kids while waiting to pick up from school or dr appointments. Maybe this...- GDIMammothTank

It’s the battery. Checked this morning and it’s at 12.1 volts. Hooked jump box back up and it purred for 30 seconds and I shut it off. Who would have thought. Lol- GDIMammothTank

Update, kept seeing that a bad battery could possssssibly be a little bit possibly causing the problem. So I hooked it up to a jump pack and the CEL was gone and it sounded great. Maybe I’ll try again in the morning. Hopefully it is just the battery.- GDIMammothTank

Another happy return home. 5.4l Triton with 197,000 miles has P0365 and P0369. Rough idle, wants to die. Sounds fine and has plenty of power when driving just sounds like cam phasers and death at idle until it actually dies. I’m going to scour the internet but figured I’d ask in case anyone...- GDIMammothTank

Procharging the 5.4
Anyone have any experience on procharging their Expy? I see a couple kits that are pretty pricey but I mean it would be a looooootttttt of fun. I am thinking new cams and the pro charger with a tuner should all be good? Having a hard time finding anything on Expeditions.- GDIMammothTank

2017 Max Tire Size?
I think your biggest worry is going to be if you are lifted at all or not. I have the premium wheels (I think they are 20s) and was thinking about putting the 35s on from my F150 but they are wayyyyyy too big. Also think about tire wall height when at full crank. No rubbing now is always better...- GDIMammothTank

Wish I could tell you what gear is in it. It is 2wd. I mean maybe it's the E88? I have had that stuff in my tank for a little over a month and it just loves it. Lots of power if you big toe the gas out of a parking spot. Sitting at 17.1 average right now. I just swapped the passenger side VCT...- GDIMammothTank

Real world MPG results
Recently did a trip from El Paso Texas to Alamogordo NM and got 21 both directions. Bone stock 2012 King Ranch 5.4l triton. Maybe it's the E88 eco Maverick gas? City is dropping pretty far but sitting at 17.3 for the last week or so.- GDIMammothTank
