    Advice for possible 2023 Expy

If you have Forscan you can enable Police mode which disables all interior and puddle lights when the door is opened and a silent mode that AFAIK ensures the lights dont turn on when approaching the car or unlocking, some googling of police mode, dark mode silent mode will get you the info you want

    Factory battery life

Mine lasted 3.5 years (Alberta winters too) before replacing but even with a new AGM, battery monitor reset etc the low voltage cutoff kicked in on the new battery after about a year. I have a battery tender that's AGM compatible but I agree with the above, Fords low voltage logic vs letting the...

Ecoboost running hot or unusual temperatures

Only one thermostat, it was always a cold side thermostat on these engines. The upgraded part bit is that the factory thermostat had a habit of sticking after a while so , I believe, since August 2022 a revised thermostat is now used with the plastic part. But any thermostat you buy from napa...

Ecoboost running hot or unusual temperatures

TDLR; 3.5 Ecoboost uses a cold side thermostat, use Motorcraft part number HL3Z8575B Recently I noticed my temperatures fluctuating a lot more than usual, driving on a straight flat road, no wind, temps would climb up to 107 to 109 (225f to 228f) and I could hear the fan roaring. Then for no...

    Windshield is a rock magnet

Just replaced my windshield 3 weeks ago, picked up a big chip on Sunday :( Guess I'll be on my 3rd windshield in 9 months. Care to elaborate about the premium windshield being more susceptible?

    Floppy Hood when driving

seems to be a common issue with light hoods If you want to video something exciting wait for a breezy day with the wind coming from left to right on a single lane and wait for a truck to pass. You'll think the hood is going to crease. Another thread earlier about same...

Some people have used power from rear mirror, I ran my cables to the right, down the pillar, down to passenger footwell where all the fuses reside just inside the door. micro add-a-fuse and off we go.

    How to replace the headlight?

Look in the wheel well at front, there is a flap in the lining you can pull back, has a screw retaining it from memory, may have to turn the wheel in to see it. Once undone you can reach up to access the rear of the assembly to gain access General consensus is the Platinums require more than...

    Fake engine noise?

I always liked the Subaru boxer engine sound, the offset length of the header pipes due to the 2<->2 flat layout always sounded nice to my ear. Also like the Dodge Rams with 2 pipes one from each bank, again that nice offset sound if your standing at an angle to the rear as it idles by...

    Fake engine noise?

To my ear it also cranks up the volume when in sport mode, maybe I am just imagining it :)

How’s your AC in the summer?

Drove mine down to Flagstaff in August, over the Hoover dam in 45C, Grand Canyon to Vegas in +40C, never an issue. But I was on vacation so typically motoring along which always helps the AC dissipate heat. But even pootling around Vegas on the strip and general slow poke driving while sight...
