    I think OD off means it is in 4th gear, as 5th and 6th are OD. That will explain the RPMs.

    2008 XLT Tailgate ajar alarm has started going off randomly and dinging the alarm. I sprayed some WD40 in the latch but didn't do anything. I would be willing to bypass switch or snip wires if it was a fix for the annoying alarm.? I have other ways to tell if the door is open.;-) Thanks.

    I had something similar a few years back on my '15. Turned out to be a bad sensor. Plugging obd scanner in didn't help, because it just reads the temp from the same sensor.

    I have 300,000 on my 2008 5.4 untouched. It's run 5w20 Mobil 1 forever, but I've also wondered about changing to 5w30, too. Likely really doesn't matter for me now anyway....

    This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but hear me out. On our 2008, which hates taking fuel, we found if you put the nozzle in upside down (you may have to hold it) and not too far in, it will allow us to fill it to full most of the time. Been doing this for about 4 years.
