I’ve been using Varsity Ford Parts online and have been very pleased. Of course you have to get the individual components but at least you know it’s Ford.
The roller followers first. Doing it by the Ford Service Manual they go back in after you get the cam timing right and there's no shortcut. Each valve spring is compressed after the cams are installed and putting the follower back in is an adventure for each valve--sometimes they're easy and...
Thank you whtbronco, always appreciate your posts. I have to provide 2 more observations. With the front cover off and rotating the engine by hand, solenoids removed, oil spurted out of the right side solenoid housing such that it launched upward and landed near the fender well. Never saw...
Hi all,
No question here, just posting an exasperating and totally unexpected outcome after swapping out an M360 for an M340HV. 2006 Expedition.
Quick background, all timing components along with lash adjusters and roller followers replaced in 2017 at 100K miles due to a bad phaser. At the...
When all is well, the #1 sensors are constantly going back and forth from rich to lean based on the PCM varying the injector pulse width. The PCM added more fuel (a lot more) and did not see the O2 sensor respond. That means a lot of air is getting to the sensor (or it's bad, wiring...
Going from memory, the wheel well liner has to be removed to get access. Can you get a visual on the sensor as is? I suppose it’s possible to get a bad sensor out of the box, maybe it’s an installation issue. I remember making the connection was much harder than disconnecting it, but the...
I replaced my passenger side exhaust manifold going on 2 years ago and took the opportunity to replace both #1 O2 sensors. The passenger side sensor is the most difficult to replace and get the connector on and off. I’d check that if you can—connector integrity first. Mine is an ‘06 5.4 3V...
Nice work and thanks for sharing! I didn’t know until a few days ago our front driveshafts are spinning in 2H. I don’t like it…. My Bronco’s front driveshaft hasn’t rotated in years…the way it should be.
I attached a page from the 06 Ford service manual that’s the closest to what’s being discussed, I think. I’m learning a lot from the transfer case discussions.
I suppose start with putting gauges on the high and low side and see if the readings are reasonable. I don't have my Ford service manual in front of me but acpro on the web says for an 80F day 40-50psi on the low side and 175-210 on the high side. We'll assume you've got good airflow over the...
I was thinking the Park pawl too. I’m not sure how it’s actuated in 4R70/75 but it seems a possible culprit. (I’m a C6 guy). In Neutral the transmission output shaft should be free to turn. With the engine off and no transmission fluid pressure there shouldn’t be a possibility of the wrong...
I suggest disconnecting the driveshaft from the differential and rotate wheels like you are doing. That will isolate the differential. It’s hard for me to believe the differential came unglued inside but it needs to be ruled out…or maybe not.
You've done a great job helping out the community of us 4WD Expedition owners. I'd do exactly what you're doing to get it back on the road soonest. And you retained the original versus sending it in as a core, as I'm a believer whatever is on my vehicle is probably in better shape than...
