AWD/4WD thumping under acceleration
Its because of changing the tire, any diameter change on the tires over a quarter of an inch in difference will throw the speed sensors off, and will think its slipping and cause it to lock in and out of 4h, and it is fuse number 104 under the hood and will not hurt it one bit check out the...- xcaliber1972

POP or Klunk like something is slipping when in 4 wheel drive
Check tires and see if there is the same amount of tread on all tires sided to side and front to back the diameter has to be within a quarter inch on all tires or it will throw off speed sensors and try to engage 4x4 at irregular time as in on accelleration and really gets loud and annoying if...- xcaliber1972

awd troubles
ok i pulled fuse 104 and the popping went away . Im thinking that it may be related to 1) transfer case 2) shift motor . Ill service the transfer case and check the operation of the shift motor but it seems to be working fine in a4wd 4h 4l . just in a4wd i get the poppng noise I thinks it is the...- xcaliber1972

get the ones that go on the bottom tha other ones are junk , if you follow your torsion arms back to about mid way under truck you will see where they are mounted you will see two bolts under it, if you tighten these bolts you will get lift , but make sure you turn them equal amount or it will...- xcaliber1972

Wires on top of rear diff????
the wires on top of diff go to part of the speed control sensors and also with abs there is a sensor in there that sometimes will get some metal shavings on it ( normal wear and tear ) that will send an abs code . just remove sensor clean it up and should be good best case , worst case replace...- xcaliber1972

I just did this coil swap and you can get the same kit from oreillys for about 240 bucks with new shocks front and rear and new coils in the rear. awd troubles
I have a 99 awd eb expy , the awd makes a popping noise almost like its jumping in and out of gear. It all started when I had a tire rod end go out and i hit a gaurdrail at about 40 mph .
