    im also not real sure what you did with the old 02 but that will not rule out the cat I think the idea of removing the upstream is to let out exhaust, telling you that there is a restriction inb the exhaust, but you have to leave it out and start it.

    yup, if you havent picked it up yet, just know one ball joint (lower I think) is replaceable, the upper, you have to buy an entire a arm....unless im wrong and sombody figured out how to get it out.

    on my 2000 5.4 I have both. the cht is under the drivers side front of the intake. the alt has to be removed to get to it. ect was in the intake, after the thermostat housing and very easy to change.

    no blockage, but you may be on to somthing with weak coolant flow....care to elaborate? by tensioner, I assume you mean a slipping belt, and I dont beleive that to be an issue.

    I flushed it two weeks ago with two bottles of peak radiator flush and water...ran it for 4 days like that then replaced with 50/50. before the flush the coolant was very rusty...I cant see into the radiator since the resivoir is all that is there to look at.

    its a direct drive fan, not electric, and yes 100% sure it works. plus I can idle all day without overheating, it gets hot when you take off to hwy speeds. I can drive thru town for an hour with no issues. Also when it overheats, turning on both heaters and idling the truck around 2 grand...
