Pressing the brake lights up the 3rd and the driver's side. Same with the hazards.
Pretty good with electric stuff, just need to be pointed in the right direction.
Have the tools.
Curious problem and I'm looking for ideas. 1998 expy, the passenger side brake light/turn signal does not work. The parking light does and they are the same bulb. This is just the passenger side rear. Everything else works fine.
So far, I have:

Just drop the column and inspect it. It's super easy. 4 bolts and you're there. I think I even put a how-to together on one of my threads. I had to do it this summer. Plan on a half hour or so.
definitely check the cables going to the starter. These things are notorious for corroding up. It's a great recipe to kill a starter, make starting slow and just all around frustrating.
So, a bit of an update.
I temp fixed it, in the thoughts that it would allow me to drive it to the shop. On a whim, I took my tools to the junkyard to look for a 97/98 F150 or expy.
Found one. Dropped the column and to my surprise, the piece that broke on my truck is the end of the shift...
After getting under the dash, I was able to visually see that the torx screws were loose. I tightened the first one. Went to work on the second and the screw fell out in my hand. Felt around up there and discovered the aluminum bracket that the brass screws tighten into is broken on the top...
Need some help.
Coming home tonight, truck was shifted from Drive to Reverse and I believe the shifter cable broke. Truck will not shift out of drive. Shifter is really loose. Still moves through the range, but doesn't actually do anything. It was tight prior to this as well.
I...
It was solid fiberglass. About 14" from top to bottom. It went across the entire front of the expy. It was black. That's about it.
It wasn't horrible, but I really dig the looks of the stock bumper. There was also the safety factor of steel vs. fiberglass. I also wanted the foglights...
I'm glad to be back in a great truck!
A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 98 EB. Blue/tan. 5.4, Air ride, the works.
Body has 170k on it, New Ford short block has 39k on it. Came from PA. Spotless! Not like the other rust buckets here in Michigan!
PO made a front bumper out...
well, just going by the codes,
you need at least one 02, maybe all around replacements are in order. Clean the maf, it's easy to diy. Also, check the vacuum elbow at the back of the intake manifold. There is a line that goes to the pcv, its's made of rubber and is a usual culprit of some of...
when it won't start, does the tach bump at all?
try starting it with your foot to the floor on the gas pedal.
then try starting it with your foot off, then gradually easing into it.
finally, unplug the maf and try starting it. If that works, as silly as it sounds, the cold start wire...
Just dismantle the console lid, pull the old vinyl off to use as a template for the microsuade, apply some foam, a little adhesive and reassemble.
step back, open a beer and admire your creativity.
