Sorry, I have not been visiting this forum for sometime so unfamiliar with what's going on in the community.
Anyone with a 1st generation expedition here have interest in building a supercharged 5.4? I have a 2000 ford expedition that can be found in the following thread. Don't know how many...
My best e.t. was 12.61 @ 107.5 mph and that was back in 2012 I believe. It's posted on dragtimes if you want to look it up.
The bottom end was built to handle north of 1000 hp and planned to install a larger whipple supercharger or go turbo when funds allowed. It has the eaton that came on...
I missed this thread because I have not been on this site for some time. Nice build ! I did my own build over 10 years ago with my 2000 expedition. https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/another-blown-expy-coming-soon.11485/
Built bottom end, TFS heads, after market cams, lighting...
Quickest 4th gen expedition I have been able to find to date is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbg-BASUaBM&t=699s
2wd 4th gen running E50, tune of course and mild mods.
Curious if anyone has taken their 4th gen to the track and what kind of numbers they are posting? I know it's not your typical track vehicle but the 3.5 ecoboost is quite capable and responds very well to a tune and mods.
Comp Cams 102500 in mine but with boost and TFS heads.

Zero lope. I would forget about lope in a heavy SUV. What gives you the lope will also kill low end power / torque and require modding almost the entire drivetrain...
"Loppy idle" cams generally mean there is significant overlap for more power at higher rpms and this moves the powerband up. Power will be down in the lower rpms as well as significantly higher emissions. Always a trade off and not very good one in a heavy "work" truck unless it is off road or...
I actually got a fresh battery and ran my beast today ! Been sitting awhile.. :-( Just making sure I am prepared for the 'potential' snow.
My taurus SHO is awd but given the high mileage low profile tires and low ground clearance, I don't have a lot of faith in it in anything more than a few...
'Last check, assume the engine is flooded pull out the fuse for the fuel pump and start the engine while fully deppressing the accelerator pedal. If it wants to start after that put back the fuse and start it again normally.
If it still wont start, check the wiring of the MAF sensor. Because if...
No cam phasers on 2v motors so you can rule that out. A timing chain tensioner maybe? Hydraulic lash adjuster is another possibility I would consider. May bleed down while sitting and not fully pump up till warm.
I really enjoy when people try that to me now.. Would love to see the expression on their face when I punch the throttle because no one expects a 3 ton expy to move that quickly.
As far as off the line acceleration I would say changing the rear gear ratio would be the best bang for your buck...
I have not been on the site for quite some time. Separated from the wife and recently purchased a new (to me) home. Still have the expedition but have had zero time to mess with it.
Been working on the house in my spare time. It's amazing all the small essentials you collect through the...
The A4wd is a blast on the street. It comes out of the hole very hard for a 3 ton suv and surprises more than a few. So effortless to launch. Just digs in and goes.
Punching it in 2wd results in a lot of wheel spin of course.
At the track an identical 2wd would be quicker given a decent...
Can't speak for the later gen's but the 1st generation expedition has a lot in common with similar year F150's. There are obvious difference due to one being an SUV vs a Truck but I have gotten a lot of helpful info from lightningrodder as far as my build and modifications.
Somewhat...
Thanks guys! :)
"Its great the Expy put a smile on your face. "
Not driving it for several months made it feel so much faster.. Was like ... Daaaamnnnnn
Have not been on here lately due too life issues. Going through separation / divorce and its been a long ongoing process.
The taurus SHO has been my primary means of transportation. The expedition has the engine tick which may be as simple as a bad lash adjuster or potentially a bad valve...
If you are talking electric heat... a watt is a watt pretty much unless your looking for radiant heat used primarily for comfort while working. Otherwise your looking at some sort of fan forced electric heat on its own circuit and stat. Depending on what the temp is set at, insulation factor...
