2000 expedition Rear glass will not latch

I had to deepen and widen the slot. Otherwise the cable would not move.

2000 expedition Rear glass will not latch

Yes, exactly. Amazon sells the part that breaks on these cables, but it must be slightly modified to fit.

2000 expedition Rear glass will not latch

I always do rod down, so water does not accumulate in them.

2000 expedition Rear glass will not latch

I did after putting glass down and I took the inside panel off. It latched. I think maybe it's the link that's worn out. I replaced the one for the tailgate latch, but not the glass latch.

2000 expedition Rear glass will not latch

I replaced lower latch cable 3 years ago, but not the upper one. Today my wife tried latching the rear glass and it just popped off. Is there a way to latch it from the inside, or do I need a new latch? UPDATE - I played with the latch and latch cable from the inside and it did latch. So...

    Stuck oil filter

Probably not. I was hanging on the wrench with all of my 181 lbs and it would not budge.

    Stuck oil filter

For the first time in 13 years I was unable to remove oil filter (4.6L engine). I tried the regular oil filter wrench and would not budge. At certain point, the wrench just started sliding with filter not budging. It was hard to remove before, but I was never stuck like this. There is no space...

AC plumbing Drawing for 2001 Expedition

I pulled the silver tape off and replaced with all black (my Expy is black) self-adhesive textured tape. Looks a LOT better.

    Electrical Gremlins

I was going to suggest ground. Also, it is known that a windshield leak corrodes the chassis electronic module located on the left side in driver's foot well. Check that first.

How complete of a coolant flush is needed?

It seems to me it just goes on once it starts. Just inherent to the 1st gen expeditions.

How complete of a coolant flush is needed?

I did just the rear heater core flush on mine last Sunday using a 3-gallon bucket. Took 18 gallons and only the last bucket was free of rust. I ended up pinching the garden hose and releasing the pulse of water after my 3rd bucket was clear. Took additional 2 buckets to clear. And that's every...

How complete of a coolant flush is needed?

How long did it take you to take the dash apart, and how difficult was it? I'm thinking of doing the odometer repair, but somehow I'm not feeling up to it....

How complete of a coolant flush is needed?

Yes, that's exactly what I do and what I would suggest doing for your front heater core as well. disconnect hoses and flush it out. I think that this year I will flush it both ways, and maybe replace the coolant as well.

Sometimes what is numbered as a fuse is really a relay. What are these fuses supposed to power?

Did you check ground cables? Also, check body module.

How complete of a coolant flush is needed?

My front heater core got plugged 5 years ago. That's when I learned that A) the rear heater core can be replaced in 2 easy hours, B) The rear heater core is sufficient to keep the car warm down to -10F outside temp (the only time i'm in trouble is during a heavy snowfall or freezing rain), and...

crank no start (-------) on the odometer and pats code 16

No, it would not. Only a bad alternator would, but that would trigger the "battery" warning light.

I was just about to say the same. Also, bad ground will create all kinds of havoc.

1999 Expy 4.6L w/ Possible Bad AC Compressor?

It's too late now, but for people searching this thread - I just remembered I had a similar situation in my 2000 Expy. It turned out it was an idler pulley (could be a tensioner pulley), which acted up with added load of the AC compressor. That's why it squealed only with AC activated. Cost me...

1999 Expy 4.6L w/ Possible Bad AC Compressor?

Replace the AC compressor now. You may get away with just replacing compressor ($290) and maybe receiver/dryer. If compressor goes, it will require much more. It's easy. I replaced mine in 2 hrs with no problems. The you just have to get the system recharged ($120).
