Good job, VB. In reference to your post #13, these are coil-over-shocks, not struts. Remember, a strut is actually part of the front end geometry. A strut replaces the upper control arm. 03-04 roof rack upgrade
I did exactly the same swap that you're proposing. It is a simple "unbolt the old ones and bolt the new ones in place" Nothing more, nothing less. It is all done from the outside. You do not need to get under the headliner for anything. I think it took me a grand total of about 20 minutes...- AskMeLater

How much did you pay for your Expedition?
$5500+ttl in April 2014. Had about 155k miles on it. Already had 18" F-150 wheels. Probably could have (should have?) talked dealer down a little bit, but we love our Expy!- AskMeLater

Suggestions for Coil Packs
I went with Denso coil packs (Made in USA!) from rockauto.com and Autolite Iridium plugs. Have put close to 10k miles on them so far and seem to be working fine.- AskMeLater

Poll about 5.4l V8 and mileage
'03 EB 4x4 5.4 Bought it in April 2014 with 154k miles. Now has 163k miles. Original engine & trans as far as I know. Seems to run well. Gets about 15-16 mpg on the expressway (up/down hills). Nice, level road puts me at about 18ish IIRC..- AskMeLater
