I know this is old but I want to add something that may be helpful in the future for others. That pic looks like it is from a 2V. On my 2012 3V the crossover assembly is separate. Once you remove all the bolts the left side won't quite want to come out. If you look just underneath where the...
Wheel bearings are easy to check. Lift the truck. Put your hands at 3 and 9 o'clock. Push at 3 pull at 9 and alternate. Any opposite side will do. If the tire moves at all the bearing is going.
Did you solve this issue? It sounds like the second fan is not turning on or spinning fast enough at idle to pull enough air across the condenser. Spraying water on it will do the same thing. Driving will put air across it. You only need that fan at Idle.
Did you happen to fix this? I believe the second fan is not turning on. Without it, the A/C will blow warm at idle. Once you get moving, the air will move across the confessor and cool it. I don't know if I need to change the double fan unit or if it is a wire module problem.
Removed the starter to make room for access to the exhaust manifold that I just replaced. To find the top bolt just run your finger from the the ones you can see. They are all in line. You will feel it up there. I'll attach a picture of the set up the reached it. A stubby or maybe a 1/4"...
did you ever completed this? I do much of my own work, but this is about 5 gallons of liquid to dispose of. I may just go to Ford. How much extra can they really charge?
Mysterious coolant leak. Look under your oil fill cap. a little creamy substance is normal if you don't drive much, but that forms over a few thousand miles. If you have quite a bit in a short time that can mean coolant in the oil. That could mean a head gasket or cracked head. This is an...
2012 Limited
I had a broken stud on the passenger side. It made a racket at start up. It would come down but I heard the ticking all the time. Best way to do it is to go to Ford, give them money and come back when they call you. I think the price tag is over $2000 with taxes.
This job is...
Works part of the time. Seems mostly at idle. On the highway it is good. This morning it was freezing from the get go. Only one fan in the front is spinning. Should both fans be on when the AC is on? Fuse, connection or do I need to replace the fan assembly?
Can bypass a switch and put...
Succes. I used a 22m extractor socket and a 24" breaker bar when necessary and my impact the rest of the time. Once I had the right tools it was not that hard. Haviland I'm sorry I don't know if Ford stopped using them. I little bit of a search tells me yes. Some have even taken Ford to court.
I do have an impact gun. I only tried one wheel but inspection shows multiple problems. There is no way a 21mm is fitting on any of them. The stock tire iron will NEVER get them off. I don't understand that high torque spec.
2012 Limited. I went to remove my Driver Front wheel (Change wheel Bearing) and some of the lug nuts are stripped. A little research tells me this is common. I have an extractor, but these things are tight. It seems they swell? Maybe from under the chrome plating?
Most sources say 100 ft...
Thank you. I went with Motorcraft. I had seen some liking SKF also. Beware there is a company MotorbyMotor. If you are not careful you will think you are ordering Motorcraft.
Issue solved. It was the hood. Open the hood. along the drivers side halfway between the radiator and firewall, right next to the coolant you will see a plunger on a bracket. I bent the bracket up a 1/4" and no more alarm problem.
The hood just wasn't pushing it down far enough.
I have not, but that is a good place to look. I will lubricate the doors. I will have to find out what exactly is monitored. Where is the sensor?
If you know that would be helpful. If not I will see if a schematic exists.
Thanks for the tip.
FINALLY an Update. Ford reflashed the PCM, put in new plugs and replaced the Coil BOOTS not the whole coil. Started up instantly runs better. Before I was very aware of the transmission shifting or so it felt. It may have been misfires. Everything is running well.
An Injector can be leaking, emptying the fuel pressure. When the vehicle sits the fuel leaks out into the cylinder. If the cylinder is flooded it may not fire causing a misfire. You can have white smoke at start up. None of that would cause a code unless the misfire was bad enough.
