Expedition Going into Deep Sleep - Battery Low

Excellent Advice. I have a battery maintainer with a quick connect pigtail on every vehicle we own. If any of them won't be used for a week - or we will be loading for a trip over a period of days with opening and closing of doors and hatches, they are on the battery maintainer.

Expedition Going into Deep Sleep - Battery Low

Does your Expy have power running boards and when sitting around are you opening and closing the doors (activating the running boards) and / or the rear hatch. I have found that when loading / unloading or cleaning my Expy over a period of time, the running boards and rear hatch activation will...

General Grabber tires on brand new 22 Expy

Last time I traded an Expedition, I had the dealer swap crappy Hankook tires on the new vehicle for the Michelins on my trade in. They were happy to do it as they could then sell my trade in with brand new tires, which they obviously did not recognize as low quality.

Will my brake rotors need to be replaced at 60k?

Did the bolt back itself out or did it snap off in the bracket?

Will my brake rotors need to be replaced at 60k?

I torque mine with a torque wrench in a cross pattern, but I'm sure the dealer mechs that did warranty work on my trucks from time to time did not, just blasted them on with an air wrench in a circular pattern like a NASCAR pit crew, LOL

Will my brake rotors need to be replaced at 60k?

Ford Expy OEM rotors are known to warp and cause slight pulsing on soft braking and a vibration / shaking when hard braking (my 11, 14 and 17 all had this "undocumented feature" from early on (10K-15K) miles. I had the 2011 cut at 12,000 by Ford under warranty because it showed no pad wear. and...

CLASS IV TRLR TOW PREP PAK?

Here is everything you need to know about 2019 towing and how to tell the difference between the base tow (included with the vehicle) and the HD Tow (option code 536) which includes the items listed. I've also attached the full 2019 trailer tow guide in .PDF format below as well.

Securing large heavy cargo in the back

Rather than screw around with the interior of the vehicle, I would do what is suggested above and rent a trailer. If whatever you are moving needs to remain clean and dry, I would rent an enclosed trailer. Small trailer can't be much to rent.

No crank/no start after oil pressure light

You being north, I would have a serious look underneath at all frame and suspension components. We have a 2007 Tahoe with only 81,000 miles, it was our primary winter vehicle in the northeast for 10 years (now a secondary vehicle). Take a look at some of the salt / liquid calcium chloride damage...

No crank/no start after oil pressure light

5.4 3 valve engines have issues with the roller followers that sit between the overhead cams and the valves. The cams push down on these followers, which, in turn, push down on the valves to open and close them. Access to these and other valve train components is by removing the valve covers...

No crank/no start after oil pressure light

Sorry to hear that. There are a few different posts on here about engine swap options. Sounds like you would not do the swap yourself, so first step is get with a good shop that can (and has done) this work. Then figure out what the costs are. I would go with a completely rebuilt long block as...

No crank/no start after oil pressure light

If you lost oil pressure while driving, putting oil in the cylinders at this point will be of no help as the main and rod bearings will seize first which may be what is keeping the engine from turning. If there was still oil pressure and the engine is locked up, then there may be a rocker...

    An honest suggestion for Ford

I have a 2020 European sports / luxury car that has a fully digital console stretching from the drivers side through the center of the dash. The large center display has many layers of touch menus. The saving grace is the designers realized the need for hard buttons / controls and they have...

    2017 cooling fans running continuously

Under what circumstances is this happening? Try starting the vehicle on a cool morning with the HVAC system set to off and see what it does. https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/2017-expedition-cooling-fans-loud-on-high-when-a-c-is-on.54100/

Fixed and cleared codes P0174,P0401,and P0406 but........

First step is scan the vehicle and then go from there. An ODBII Drive cycle is intended to bring system monitors online. Example being you disconnect the battery to change it. After reconnecting you may not have any codes, but scanning the system will reveal a number of systems that are not...

    An honest suggestion for Ford

This is all part of manufacturers and owners being forced down the EV road. Look at the interior of a Tesla and you will see. I was in the IT systems business for over 30 years and if anyone would be comfortable with using large touch screens, it would be me - and I am, BUT NOT when I'm supposed...

    What am I doing wrong?

Speak to manufacturer about mis-fit or take the spacers and 1 wheel to your local friendly machine shop and have them adjust the fitment. FYI, I'm not a super fan of wheel spacers. If they are a close tolerance fit to both the car hub and the wheel itself that is better but spacers that just sit...

Pull the spacer off the vehicle and place it on the wheel off the vehicle and see how it fits / lines up.

Thinking of supercharging the 5.4 2v

But that was not the conversation. The conversation was about 1990’s cast rotating assemblies. What you are taling about is 20 years later technology. I don’t disagree that current Cyotes and 3.5T/T will take alot more, but you cant put that kind of power through any 1900 Ford Modulars without...

Thinking of supercharging the 5.4 2v

HeHe Yeah. We always referred to hypereutectic pistons as hyperucraptic, because when came out in the 90's they were promoted as being almost as strong as forged and as flexible as cast, of which they were neither. How safe an overall blower or turbo combination really is depends on a lot of...
