you should have no problem with the 4.6 , with a small amount of towing , but you might want to consider the future. i learned the hard way. when i purchased my xp i didn't even have towing inmind ,but recently my wife and i decided to buy a new travel trailer and get rid of the rv. well...
the 10 k sounds about right for the4.6L. but the xp in my opinion is way to big for that engine. the 265 hp 5.4L is sufficiant.
here are some specs for you to ponder:
engine: rear axle: max tow cap. tire size
4.6 3.55...
that speaker should be an mtx . take it to any loacal stereo shop and they can tell you for surewhat brand and ohm it is, and get you another comparable or better woofer!
by the looks of your accessories list it doesnt look like you go the cheap way. but leave those torsion bars alone and go buy yourself a body lift from "performance accessories" 2" or 3" your choice. can be done in full day with 2 shade tree mechanics. or you could get real and lift it like...
you need to try a wrecking yard ,your budget should be plenty and if your lucky you might find one totaled with low miles . most of our wrecking yards around here offer installation alot cheaper than dealer. this is a good post ,something we all half to look forward to in the future. i also...
well lets see! not sure how much better milage you will receive , the xp weighs in around 6000lb and that excursion has been rumored at almost 9000lb. suv haters say! not sure what you are towing either, my xp can tow 9000lb with no problem. my xp also has third row seat for kids. oh yeah and...
well its imple none. no mods. just bolt it on and hold on! 400rwhp is definate. the kit i speak of is the most reliable kit i have ever read about. if you go to ( whipplesuperchargers.com ) on the home page about half way down you will find all info you need.

to bad it isnt a 98. whipple industries has a supercharger kit that bolts on in a day. making the tired 250-260 hp 5.4L wake up and produce 480hp that is daily drivable. cost around $3200.00. or you could add some headers, cool air intake, throttlebody spacer, power programmer, chip, goes on...
have never needed to use synthetic, i have never seen results that show it is better. i have used regular motor oil in all my vehicles and i change every 3k or less . i currently have a 93 gmc with 315,000 no smoke or leaks,a 1989 accord 225,000 no smoke but small leak from sitting for 1 year...
yeh thats right it is low , man ! i have 3:55 and i was sad. changing mine to 4:56 asap, along with the 6" lift and 35 " tires. with that low of a gear ratio it will put tons of strain on your tranny . i cant believe thats the gear ratio with a tow package. i would say 6400lbs would be right on...
i feel for you JT , i dont have enough time to write my sob story right now but i will tell you this , NEVER NEVER buy a ford xp from a dodge dealer, they cant even fix window regulator or alignment, SAD SAD
there is a metal tag on the rear differential cover bolt . the first number is the size of the rear end 8.8 or 9.75 etc... the second number is the gear ratio 3:55 etc...... you should be around 8900lbs towing capacity with that 5.4L. if you go bigger rotors front and rear and change gear ratio...
