A lot of people on the F150online forum use ebay sellers Uneek Supply and Global Automotive. You can get 8 coils for 90 bucks (price of 1 from dealer). Apparently, the coils are same/better than the stockers.

Also, what some people do is order the coils for a V10 so they have 2 spare ones in case they get a bad one. It'd be up to you. Seems the ones we need are the DG508 ones.

Here's a couple links:

From the quick searches, it seems the Uneek Supply has a slightly better warranty (in regards to actually replacing) than the Global place, though things can change.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I was afraid that the ACCEL units would be a little different than stock and therefore need to be changed out as a set.
Looks like I may be getting the set from UNEEK soon. Great price, thanks for the link.

Yea, that's why a lot of people get the V10 package, so they can have 2 spares. With the price of the coils, it's not worth it to hassle with the warranty. Shoot, you could buy 16 of them for the price of 2 motorcraft ones....

As I said earlier, it seems the Uneek seller gives you less of a hassle when exchanging stuff.

Okay, I had a misfire at #1 so I swapped that coil with #5 to see if trouble would follow the coil or stay at the plug. Trouble came up on #7. Installed new plugs and boots. New trouble code had a misfire at #1 cylinder so I swapped that coil with one from my '01 F-150 (same spout connector) which ran fine before the swap. The Expedition still ran like crap and now my pick-up ran like crap = so the Expy had more than one bad coil. With over 120,000 miles on the clock and more than one bad coil, I decided to get a set.
In order to have two spares, I ordered a set of 10 coils from uneek :

for what the dealership wanted for just one coil ($92.99), plus $11.40 for shipping. Got them today, which was 2 days before the expected delivery date and now the Expy runs fine.
Since new coils come with boots, I have a spare set of coil boots for my pick-up.

if you looked at any of the links posted, youd see that the "wire" is attached to the coil

Update:
Installed new coils from Uneek's E-bay store and all was well for two months. Long story - short... now have 3 bad coils that have to be returned to Uneek for replacement.

Get what you pay for???

Anybody else have trouble with Uneek's coils?

Had same problem but had 6 bad coils. new plugs and coils from uneek month ago, had code for cyl #5 misfire, changed coil ran fine for a week misfied while on highway, had it towed to dealer cyl 3,4,5, now. Cost me $500

Shoud have just bought OEM.

I was wondering if it could be the boots that are bad causing it to misfire, compared to the OEM the boots that come on the coils compared to OEM are thinner

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Didn't think of that. Before buying Uneek's coils, I replaced plugs and boots with parts from Advance and still have the new boots since the new coils came with boots installed. Now you have me thinking about swapping them out. The only thing is, when I replaced the first two new coils with the spares, those cylinders no longer misfired. But still, you've got me thinking about the boots.
