Sorry this may be real simple but I am a rough guy and I tend to break things so I thought I'd better ask first to avoid heartache.

Besides these two bolts, what else do you have to do to remove the headlight unit?

Thanks in advance.

in the middle of them 2 look behind the headlight and you will see a long stem with a bolt head on it that also needs to be loosened then the headlight will come out

Again EL thanks for coming to the rescue. The two bolts were obvious. The 3rd in the back looks like an alignment bolt so I was hesitant to screw with it. But I finally did after GRIP's post. But I was still having problem getting the unit loose... Feels that there is a catch/tab thing somewhere by the grille. I will try again tonight. Thanks for the advice (and I will pack away my rotohammer for now ;)

BTW, it is very nice of you and others to take the time to do these writeups. They are very thoughtful and incredibly helpful. I love being a part of this community.

Thanks.

I figure that I'm already going to do it, I might as well take pictures. :)

Next mod (and probable writeup) is going to be the HIDs I ordered. Have to go pick them up from the post office tomorrow.

EL do you remember if the headlight unit comes out by sliding forward? or does it swing/pivot out? or? I removed the bolts and the unit is loose, but the slack/free play is only about 3/8" and something is keeping it from coming out.

The taillight is simple, it just slides backward and out.

It's supposed to slide straight out.

But, I do remember the first time I tried to take them out (way before I wrote the write up.) I couldn't get the driver side one out for nothing. The passenger one came out in less than 5 mins, but I just couldn't get the driver side out. I gave up, and took it to a place (I think it was Goodyear.) They took it out and installed the two bulbs (which was the reason I was trying to take them out.)

After that, I've been able to take them out no problem.

I'm installing HIDs today, so I'll try to get a vid of me taking it out. :)

Thanks EL! You really had gone above and beyond to help a buddy. I was finally able to get those headlights out (hey I am an expert now), and with SG1NUT's advices, I successfully installed the strobe bulbs and got them running. Damn they look nice.. and damn bright too.

The HID video is not telling me much, what am I looking at there? Did you add the HID or did you replace your headlghts with HID?

Oh, sorry, I just replaced my low beams with an plug and play HID kit. I still have the SS bulbs in the highs and fogs.

I'll have more pix of the cutoff and what not later. :)
