Can anyone tell my the type of 4x4 transfer case that my 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4 has?

The owner’s manual lists two types:

Electronic shift-on-the-fly (requiring Ford transfer case fluid)
Torque-on-demand (requiring Ford transmission fluid).

I ask as I had the front differential and transfer case fluids changed (and oil-change service) at my Ford dealer today. They installed Ford transmission fluid.

I have a feeling that my transfer case is the shift-on-the-fly type, meaning the dealer put the wrong fluid in it.

The vehicle has an electronic switch on the dash, allowing selection of 2H, 4A, 4H and 4L.

Thank you.

Short answer is yes as long as they used 1.4 liters (2.9 pints) of Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-10-QLVC

Long answer is that the F150 uses the same transfer case from Borg Warner (BW4417) but there are 2 different configurations, and yes they use the same volume of different fluids;

Electronic shift on the fly (ESOF) (2H 4H 4L)
Uses Motorcraft Transfer Case Fluid (XL-12)

2-speed Torque on demand (2H 4A 4H 4L)
Uses Motorcraft Transmission Fluid (XT-10-QLVC)
