I went to change my brakes this weekend and when I went to spin the tire it made a clicking sound. It turns pretty freely, but when getting it started it clicks. Is this normal or an issue with the CV or other drive component? When I have changed brakes in the past on other vehicles the wheel spun freely without any noise.

I think you can be sure, it is not normal.. I guess you need to identify where the clicking is coming from, it could be the wheel sensor for the ABS, or it could be a CV joint (if yours is 4 wheel drive), but until you locate the source, we can’t suggest a fix. My 4 wheel drive expedition does NOT make a clicking noise when the wheel is rotated..

I just replaced a clicking but smooth and super free turning wheel on my Fusion. It was moaning at highway speeds. You can disconnect the sensors and spin, but they shouldn't be touching anything anyways.

It's a little harder when its 4wd. The 4x4 is engaged when vacuum is removed so if its a 4x4 and turning freely and clicking the 4wd is not properly engaging.
