I have a 2017 Exped XL XLT 3.5L eco boost. The cooling fans were running continuously on high almost immediately after starting the vehicle. Figured it was a faulty cooling temperature sensor or TCS…trouble is, I can’t find the thing. Can someone help me with the location on the engine? TIA!

Did you ever find what caused this? Mine is doing the same thing.

Under what circumstances is this happening? Try starting the vehicle on a cool morning with the HVAC system set to off and see what it does.

Sorry for the delayed response. It happens no matter the circumstances, even on a cool morning. I read that it's possibly related to the A/C high pressure switch. After more reading and looking at the A/C lines, it seems there is only a switch (referred to as transducer) on the high pressure line, none on the low pressure. Does this sound possible?

It could be the A/C pressure sensor or the coolant temperature sensor. Have you running ForScan or another DTC code reader to see if any codes are being generated.

I did use a DTC code reader, but no codes are being generated. I am going to change the A/C pressure sensor today and see what happens.

Have you checked the coolant levels and engine temperature? You didn't say how many miles, but the water pumps can eventually fail, which can cause the engine to run hot.

I changed the sensor/transducer, the fan no longer comes on high when the vehicle is started, without the A/C, so that's good. However, when the A/C is turned on, the fan comes on high and does not stop even when the A/C is turned off. I guess I'll be doing some more research.
The car has 93,700 miles on it. The coolant level is good and engine temp is normal, +/- 196°F operating temp.

rcole1228, any luck yet? I have a 2017 Ford Expedition King Ranch EL and the fan keeps kicking on high when the vehicle is moving. I replaced the overflow reservoir and attached hose. Engine is not overheating. When I'm sitting idle, the fans are low speed. As soon as I start moving, they kick on high until I stop moving. After a few seconds of not moving, the fan goes back to low speed. This really seems to be AC related as I think the compressor runs more when the engine is at speed. Not sure if that's true, but it's a thought. I've been really banging my head on this one. I've also check the AC charge and it looks good.
