Sorry for the delayed response. It happens no matter the circumstances, even on a cool morning. I read that it's possibly related to the A/C high pressure switch. After more reading and looking at the A/C lines, it seems there is only a switch (referred to as transducer) on the high pressure line, none on the low pressure. 2017 Expedition Cooling Fans Loud. On High When A/C is on.
So I am getting annoyed and so far have not found a permanent solution. After start up with A/C on usually a few seconds later my electric cooling fans will kick on super hi mode. Sounds like a semi-truck. Very loud fan noise. They are working properly just kicking on in a seriously high...
Have you checked the coolant levels and engine temperature? You didn't say how many miles, but the water pumps can eventually fail, which can cause the engine to run hot.
I changed the sensor/transducer, the fan no longer comes on high when the vehicle is started, without the A/C, so that's good. However, when the A/C is turned on, the fan comes on high and does not stop even when the A/C is turned off. I guess I'll be doing some more research.
