Switchback LEDS in turn signals

Hello all,

I have a 2021 Expedition XLT

The factory setting is to use low beams as the DRL, I disabled it and set it to use the front turn signals as the DRL.

The issue is I’ve installed switchback leds and they only seem to work properly when the head lights are on. Meaning when the headlights are on, the turn signal bulbs will stay white until the signal function is triggered then it will blink amber and switch back to white.

I am trying to get the bulbs to stay white with the headlights off and while in use as a DRL and not sure which settings to adjust. Can anyone please advise?

Just an FYI, but what you have done or are attempting to do is probably illegal in most states in the US

Like the old saying goes: "Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should"

You may wanna check with the local DMV/State police before proceeding...

My Son has switchbacks and is a **** with ForScan. He was never able to do what you are trying to do, so he put his factory led lights back in..

This is all kosher.

1: DRLs are not federally required in the USA. Some states have requirements based on conditions and time of year (I.e. wipers on lights on).

2: The forward lighting on the car only cannot mimic that of emergency responders (red and blues).

3: Any other lighting such as white or amber promote visibility which is a positive. Some manufacturers are now starting to enable tail lights with rear DRLs to function with fronts.
