Had a red light runner remove the front of my wife's 2018 Max Limited this week. I didn't think it was that bad until I got out. Still waiting on estimates. Any thoughts on damage amount? 20240709_120132.jpg20240709_120138.jpg20240709_120217.jpg20240709_123110.jpg

The last time some one posted a front end collision it was like 18K +
And that was with way less damage than this.
Then double the price for todays prices
I think @SyndicateZ is right.

RIP. When I was looking for my latest Expedition, I saw cars with less damage than that being marked as totaled out.

If you tried to get it repaired it would never be the same. I got t-boned in a previous Navigator with less damage than that and the insurance company totaled it.

Yea, that small overlap was BRUTAL. The way the A-pillar just sheared off was unacceptable. I also don't get why the F150s did so much better? If Ford purposely cheaped out on the Expys, I think this deserves a lot more attention on the forum.

Iirc, the 2015 f150 reg/short cab didn't do well at first either. They had to add a frame reenforcement that was already on the crew cab and the scores went up drastically. The expy is just old now, and the body work and design aren't viable against that kind of testing.

I do want to add however, there have been many a ppl on this forum who have been in very bad accidents that have walked away. We also here about ppl who have passed away in a fatal accident but at a far less rate. A research study was released that expy was still top 10 in deaths per 100 back in 2020, with the gmc suvs only competitor on the list as well.
