Dear lord, It won't be long before everyone's monthly insurance premiums will be far more than the monthly loan payments. even with rates where they are. Reminds me of the Rivian that backed into a post at less than 5mph and was 20k in damages to the bed of the pickup. 15K for that is pretty nuts.

I know, todays vehicles are absolute garbage. I parked my Expedition and bought an old cop car. Its nice driving a dirt cheap solid car and not having all the electronic BS to mess with. I keep the expedition for road trips and such. I love it, but its hit with the same bug all the new cars are, plastic and electronic BS. The only way to get away from it is to buy older stuff, but the day is coming where that old stuff will be worn out, so you can't win.

No airbags went off. Still waiting on the estimate. It was inspected today so hopefully I'll hear something tomorrow. I've been looking online at replacements. Might go with another 3rd gen. I really liked the the 08 we had before this one. It'll depend on what they say the value is of course.
Finally got a call from the the adjuster at the end of the day today. He said the estimate from the 3rd party estimator was over $19k. The adjuster is supposed to get back to me Monday after he runs some total loss calculations. My wife has said she would prefer it be totaled so I guess we'll have that discussion when he calls Monday if they say it's repairable.

Be assertive they will total it, they otherwise have to warranty it and out up with all your shit. They just need to know your that guy, ask for a supervisor.
