transfer case/front diff woes...
Well, being what the job entails and my travel schedule for work, I took it to the dealer today (dealer principal is a friend and I only let one guy there work on it). I'm generally not a big fan of dealerships. Lorne (tech) torn it down a short bit ago and gave me a call. Bearings and caps...- hysterwv

transfer case/front diff woes...
I didn't do this, but... I have access to a lift. Put it on the lift over the weekend and ran it. Used the old heater hose stethoscope and the noise is definitely coming from the front diff. This is my wife's daily driver and I might drive it a few hundred miles/year. She wouldn't notice...- hysterwv

I'll look into the IWE. Could have been an issue for some time. Unfortunately, it's now a front diff issue. Additional investigation this weekend and the noise is in the front diff. Looks like a tear down is in order.- hysterwv

transfer case/front diff woes...
Our '08 EL Limited has developed a rather nasty noise in 4WD (all modes). In 2HI a very slight low pitched hum can be heard at 50+ mph. Turn the selector to 4A (above 20 mph) and a noticeable roar starts. Sounds like I'm running 38" Super Swampers. I changed the front diff oil and noticed...- hysterwv
