    Pull the liftgate down to where you want it and push and hold the power button for a few seconds, it should stay there. When you're done with your cargo, lift the liftgate all the way open again and push and hold the power button for a few seconds so it relearns the new open position. .

    Sounds like you've got a lot of maintenance to catch up on. Did you reach down and pull the parking brake lever completely up to make sure it is all the way off ? The switch is about $10 if it ends up being the culprit, but it may just be the symptom of something else. How's the cable look...

    Depends on what you're going for. If it's just an off-road beater vehicle then repair / rebuild what you have. If you're going for a performance off-roader I would look for a post-2000 5.4 2V motor and rebuild that. Check the motor mounts while you have the heads off. Much easier to change...

    Oil leak?

    Yeah looks like it's just coming from the oil filter and running back. Clean the area off with some degreaser or carb cleaner spray and make sure your oil filter is snug and recheck it in a week or so to see if you can isolate the cause of the leak. Are you using a Motorcraft 820 filter ? .

    The only thing directly behind the glovebox that might smoke is the AC blower and it's speed resistor or that harness plug to the resistor. But I don't know how your "aftermarket equipment" is wired in. Does your AC blower still function normally ? All speeds available ? .
