Liftgate trim panel removal different from other models seen online

That sucks, but glad you were able to figure it out. The camera connection on the wire hardness is not sufficiently water and dirt proof. I've cleaned it twice and the last time I tried liquid tape and dielectric grease. It still fails to maintain a solid connection. This past week I gave in...

Liftgate trim panel removal different from other models seen online

There are body clips holding it on. I've never touched the wiper bolt for this.

Maintenance for 2018 Max Limited at 180,000 miles

NGK makes the Motorcraft plugs. Either will work with proper gap and heat range.

Maintenance for 2018 Max Limited at 180,000 miles

Honestly, I see far more issues with plugs mentioned, frequently sourced to the the plug gaps opening up. I see comparatively fewer complaints about the coils. And when there is an issue, it's usually intermittent, or reproducible under certain circumstances, like high load. I've never seen...

Try the CyanLabs sync updater. I haven't used it in a year but it has a map only update option that I've used successfully in the past. https://cyanlabs.net/applications/syn3updater/

Misfire code. Then you check plug gaps and swap coils between cylinders to find the cause. My coils are still going at 150k. Like the plugs, I don't think proactive replacement is needed unless there's an issue. Lifespan will vary so much based on driving conditions. It's not like fluids where...

    Rookie tow question

I strongly recommend the Max. In addition to the improved stability from the longer wheelbase, it comes with a larger gas tank. This is very advantageous when getting 9 mpg while towing. I generally travel ~250 miles between gas stops while towing. The extra five or so gallons makes a really big...

Which Weight Distribution hitch do you use

I assume you won't be buy it then? I use a Husky Centerline 32218. Works great, no complaints. Some people swear by the Hensley / ProPride, but I suspect many of them did not visit a scale for setup before dropping that coin.

Maintenance for 2018 Max Limited at 180,000 miles

The Motorcraft plugs are made by NGK. Either one is fine if the correct part number is used. If the plugs have never been replaced, there's no harm in replacing them. The difficulty level can vary based on the condition of the boots. The first time I replaced mine, most of the boots ripped...

    Hood Deflector Options?

Try polishing the impacted area and put two coats of Collinite 476 on it. It will make the bug remains much easier to rinse off.

Not directed to me, but I'll add my two cents. So much depends on your driving cycle, fuel, etc. Long highway trips are easier on oil and plugs than shorter driving, which will see more RPM changes and higher RPMs. For plugs, the gaps open up within 60K, but you might not see misfires until well...

    Whipple Stage 1 System

The engine likely pulling timing while towing. I see pre and post turbo temps increases of 30 to 40 degrees even in moderate temps. My IAT2 regularly tops 140 degrees with ambient in the low 90s. You may or may not notice the difference depending on what you're towing, ambient temps, grade...

    Wagner Intercooler

So before I begin tackling this install, all the F150 videos show access to the top mount through the area where the grill normally sits. It appears that the Expedition grill is attached using rivets. I don't want to purchase a rivet gun for grill reinstallation, as I anticipate this would be...

    Wagner Intercooler

So with my 93 performance tune I saw IAT2 temps exceeding 140 degrees with ambient in the mid 90s and IAT1 around 105. The peak of summer hasn't hit yet here yet in the gulf coast region, so I decided to spring for an intercooler upgrade. I went with the Wagner because they specialize in this...

The 6R80 takes Mercon LV, which has replaced SP. Drain, drive, and refill a few times to dilute the V.

    Possible Expedition Owner

If you don't need to tow or do any offroading. Get an Odyssey. I had two before I got an Expedition and both were mostly great and made it over 200,000 miles. If you are absolutely set on having an Expedition, get an extended warranty. I've had a few repairs on mine and they were expensive ones.

Tuning Differences Between Expedition & F150

Might be weight. The Expedition is going to be heavier. But you can use an OBD dongle to get peak boost numbers and timing as well. Not sure if there's a way to get torque demand from accelerator input. Try emailing one of the reputable tuners, MPT, Unleashed, ZFG, etc. They could probably...

Maintenance for 2018 Max Limited at 180,000 miles

You can regap the plugs if you like. Or just wait for a misfire. Get an OBD2 reader so if any codes pop up you can read them. The most important thing was the fluid changes and seems as though those have been done. Monitor coolant levels and add some dye, as the water pump and turbo coolant...

Installed Bilstein 5100's - thoughts, impressions, lessons learned

Compressing springs can definitely be a chore if you don't have a good compressor. At least you didn't replicate my error. The first time I did struts, back in the early 2000s, I put some Eibachs on my Accord. Only I reversed the springs and put the rears in the front. That was an (unpleasant)...

    New turbo manifolds

For ***** and giggles, I ordered the Unleashed 93 performance tune yesterday. Received the file this AM and loaded it for a test run. Noticeable improvement over the 91 towing. Added another ~3 psi of peak boost, hit ~around 18, up from 15.5 with the 91 towing. Much stronger mid-range and top...

    New turbo manifolds

Loaded a 91 towing tune from Unleashed tuning today. Very satisfied. Moderate increase in acceleration but much improved gear shifts. It holds the lower gears longer for better throttle response and shifts seem both quicker and faster. Kinda wondering why Ford didn't ship it like this. Peak...
