    @LokiWolf has posted many times that the eco boost engines are very hard on spark plugs and you should actually change spark plugs earlier than what is recommended. You can do a search (search box top right of page) of his content with the keyword spark plugs To see this information.

    No check engine light, no need to change coils. Coils are not a maintenance item. While you are changing spark plugs if the coil boots are ripped, torn or deteriorating you can replace just the boots.

    And there is the problem. When you flush you have a huge chance of a leak. Especially if it has never been changed. You can do the flush and if you get a leak then you would have to bypass the heater core. But you would have no heat, no defrost at all. At least you have some heat now...

    More than likely the heater core is getting clogged up on the inside. You could flush it but you take a chance on springing a leak. Changing out the heater core is a major undertaking. Welcome to the forum
