Greetings everyone.

I have an '05 Expedition XLT 4x4 with 120,*** miles, the only aftermarket mod is a K&N air filter.

The engine is very "surgy" during off-idle acceleration, it's like the throttle is on or off, gentle acceleration is very difficult to achieve. It's also noticible at highway speeds with cruise control on when descending a grade, like when the cruise control is applying power from idle.

The problem is most noticable when the engine is cold, however it's present at all operating temps. The fuel filter was also recently changes.

Any ideas or similar experiences?

Do you have the 5.4 3V motor? The throttle butterfly might be sticking? Try cleaning it with throttle body cleaner.

It's a 5.4L 3v, but I'll spray some cleaner down there and see what happens.

Thanks.
