Having a problem with my truck. Just replaced converters half a yr ago and now have an engine light on saying catalyst inefficiency bank 1. Truck has no power at all either.

I hooked up my scan tool and noticed something unfortunate. I noticed that the cam timing on bank 1 is all over the place. Advancing and retarding itself a bunch!!!!

Could this be the cause of loose timing chain, tensioners, guides? Or could it be the plugged cat (engine light code) that is causing the timing on that bank to do it??

Or since the timing is bouncing around everywhere, could that have murdered my new cat???

Don't really know where to start with this.

Thanks for the help
Dante
