Hello all, new to this forum.
My 99 5.4 Expedition temporarily lost reverse gear last night. The reverse lights would light up, but nothing. I tried turning it off, on, put it in 4x4, OD off, drove around in 1st gear, and still no reverse. I figured I would need to take it in and take it like a man. I surfed the net this morning for possible similar experiences and tried getting the reverse gear this morning.. and I got reverse on the first try, and the second, and third.
I'm thinking it may have something to do with the fluid viscosity, cold vs hot, and plan to drive 20 miles today to check the transmission fluid for both smell and level.
Has anyone experienced this before? What was the final fix?
