Turning off anti theft alarm

Funny day yesterday, just bought my 07 expy and went to open the door with the key and the alarm when off, couldnt figure out how to turn the alarm off and disable it but I finally started screwing with the ignition and finally went off.

Any sure way to disable this and when it goe on whats the best way to turn it off ???

Do you not have the key fob?

yes I had the key but tried hitting the alarm button on the key but still wouldnt go off.

Well even if you had the key fob the key is a transponder key and the PATS should have recognized the key and the alarm shouldnt have went off.

If it is a continuing problem I would take it to the stealer and have them look into it.

What ever happened with this? Were you able to figure out what the problem was?

I just bought '08 Exped and the alarm has gone off in the same manner. At this point, for me, it could still very well be operator error, but very unnerving to have it happen 3 times.
