    Pressing the brake lights up the 3rd and the driver's side. Same with the hazards. Pretty good with electric stuff, just need to be pointed in the right direction. Have the tools.

    Miss at roughly 1200 rpm

    is it while driving? Like cruising speed? check out the exhaust feedback sensor. Usual culprit for our engines and a miss at speed.

    Just drop the column and inspect it. It's super easy. 4 bolts and you're there. I think I even put a how-to together on one of my threads. I had to do it this summer. Plan on a half hour or so.

    Roll under the dash and check the shifter where it connects to the cable. There are also two brass bolts, make sure those are tight.

    definitely check the cables going to the starter. These things are notorious for corroding up. It's a great recipe to kill a starter, make starting slow and just all around frustrating.

    wrench hex head sizes. there are T-30 torx headed screws that hold the shift tube onto the column.

    98 EB w 170K on the clock. 39K on a Ford engine with the updated head design. Spotless inside and out. No issues whatsoever. $1800 private sale. :)
