I've found the firing order for my '03 4.6 Expedition, but can anyone tell me which cylinder is which? Is #1 at passenger side nearest the front bumper, #2 passenger side next one back, #3 passenger side next to closest to windshield, #4 passenger side at windshield, #5 driver side nearest front bumper, etc.?
Thanks.

That's what the 5.4 cylinder designation is. I would think The 4.6 would be the same but not 100% sure. Try a search on google for the 4.6 firing order and I'm sure something will come up.

Firing order of 4.6 and 5.4 2V: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.

Found this on F150online:

Here's something else saying the firing order of the 5.4 3V:

Thanks guys. Got a misfire on cylinder #5 so I swapped coil packs 1 & 5 then cleared trouble codes to see if the problem stays on cylinder #5 or if it follows the coil pack to #1 to help figure out if my problem is the coil pack or not. Thanks for the help.

Still got misfire. Trouble light flashed and went out. Code reader says random misfire.
Still can't tell if misfire stayed at cylinder #5 or moved to #1 when I swapped the coil pack. Probably a bad coil pack.

if you can get the code read by a parts store, then you can be pretty sure which coil needs replacement. Been done this road a few times as most will chime in as well.

mine did the same thing, misfire but no light. You probably dont want to hear this but the dealer can still get the misfiring cylinder. You can buy one new one and swap it out with your #5 and # 1 and see if there are any differences.
