I'm guessing this has something to do with a "feature" but curious if anyone else experiences this. I have a really annoying thing that has happened for years off and on, but it seems to be almost all the time now. I'll set the stage, just about any time I do something like a 3-point u-turn, shifting from Drive into Reverse has a pretty significant delay before any torque is applied in Reverse. Specifically, you start your initial turn, hit the brakes and come to a stop before hitting the curb, shift from D to R, hit the gas, and nothing, for anywhere from 2-5 seconds.
I can only assume, that because virtually every road has a hump in the middle and gently slopes outward towards the curbs, that once you take your foot off the brake the vehicle begins to slightly roll towards the curb. This forward motion may be confusing the tranny or preventing it from allowing torque in reverse, but it's super annoying when you have cars piling up behind you in each direction while you complete your 3pt turn.
Anyone else experience this? I miss a mechanical shifter, they just always responded to what you were telling the vehicle you wanted. Do I have to power brake in reverse, lol? Guess I should have tried that before posting.
