so, running some math here...if based on the numbers from the BlueOval forum, where Expy production is close to 2,640 units a week. Figure on the months of March and April as true production months...given the delayed start up...and to make damn sure they have the parts to assemble the trucks. That's roughly 13,200 units a month. But if you look at Ford sales...they only logged 1917 and 1971 sales of Expeditions in March and April (which may have some leftover 2021s in there too). So that is only roughly 15% of what was produced. Yeah, some could be in transit or sitting unsold on lots with markups...but its in their best interest to get them to dealers to get the sales. So, the other roughly 85% of units are unsold. Or as we all know...waiting on chips and/or wiper motors. That's over 11,000 units a month going to into the backlog. Which to the earlier point...when you are opening ordering books in late October...scheduling initial production in late January/early Feb...stacking the deck against your customers and dealers.
