I have a 2013 expedition and I was wondering what all I would need to do a diesel swap to the new ford 3.0 and 10 speed transmission. Is this possible?
Has anyone done it?

thanks

Anything's possible with enough time, money, and skill. You're likely looking at $20k by the time everything's done.

What your goal in doing the swap?

Mainly torque and MPG. I currently have 35s on 3.31 gears and the 5.4l engine and even a tune and it’s very snail-like. Was just wondering if anyone has done the diesel swap. Will probably end up just re gearing but can’t decide between 3.73 and 4.11

The 3.0 is slow as can be, a 2010 5.4 F-150 has a faster 0-60 than a 2021 diesel F-150 FYI lol

On 35s go for the 4.11 gears. I'm on 34s with the factory 3.73 gears and the power isn't there. I'm swapping to 4.11s before installing 35s in the next few months.

MPG gains can't justify the cost of the diesel swap. Gears are the most economical and effective way of getting from where you are to where you want to be.

Really, that's $20k in gas you can burn before you put any diesel fuel in it. So it very unlikely you would ever recoup your money in fuel savings.
