Hello,
I have a 2000 Expy. LTD with the 5.4 and automatic trans. 260K miles, but roughly 150K on this transmission.
Once in a while it makes a nasty sounding grunge when I shift into reverse.
I thought it was worn bushings associated with either the rear end or transmission mounts.
I've looked at it several times and can't find anything.
My son was outside and standing close to my truck one day when it did it. He claims it's coming from the transmission.
He thinks it's maybe a reverse shifting fork? I don't think automatic transmissions have shifting forks. Do they?
Anyway, does this ring any bells?
thx,
Jim
