As title suggests, I’m considering buying my neighbors 2018 Expedition Max Limited w/ 90k miles, what should I check before buying? Is $22k a good deal?

Taking it to my mechanic this morning for a once over. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!IMG_3739.jpeg

Phasers. If they haven't been replaced, they will soon. Struts and shift quality. Some people have zero issues with the 10 speed. Some people have nothing but issues.

Ford issued eight safety recalls for the 2018 Expedition models.

Using the VIN of the vehicle you’re looking at, you can check here to see if the recalls have been performed (or if any are outstanding): https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls#vehicle

The phasers have not been replaced and it does have the cold start rattle. I’m assuming it’s going to be outside the recall window and that one would be out of pocket.

10 spd seems to be shifting flawlessly.

I talked to my mechanic, as we're still looking to buy an expedition, and they said their price was $3500 to fix cam phasers. Just something to know if it already has the rattle.
