2008 Ford Expedition Tailgate Chrome Molding Removal

Hi Guys,

I have a 2008 Ford Expedition XLT and the Chrome piece on my Tailgate looks like this:

I have some rust and paint bubbling around it so I want to take it off, sand it down and then spray it to prevent the rust from spreading.

Does the Chrome molding come off by removing the nuts AFTER removing the trim from inside the tailgate?
