So I'm chasing this low power condition on my 1998 5.4 Expedition. Best way I can explain it is like it has a clogged cat but it is intermittent. I was towing an empty trailer up a hill and while my RPMs would shoot up and the trans would downshift but I was just losing power and slowing down. I have been chasing brake parts, I had a caliper lock up on me and produced a similar situation but I don't think that is the issue here but I am going to replace the rest of the rubber brake hoses. I don't have a misfire when it does this, no flashing check engine and unfortunately it is so intermittent that it's hard to track down but of course it always happens at the worst times. I can't imagine its a fuel thing because the RPMs increase. It feels like I'm doing a brake stand almost.

Anyone ever experienced anything similar?
