This is my 4th longer model Expedition! Have owned 2007 Eddie Bauer EL (114K), a second 2007 Eddie Bauer EL (160K), and then a 2013 Limited EL (140K)....I traded in the 2013 to level up to this 2018 Max Platinum in metallic blue. It has 101K miles but it was a one owner, all dealership serviced Expy with all recommended services done. Crossing my fingers that I don't have to join the Cam or Transmission Repairs Club anytime soon (I didn't buy any ESP plans).

I really love the extra features of the Platinum trim, especially the massaging seats. The Ecoboost performs good and the suspension is still keeping the ride quality very smooth.

The dealer only gave me 7000 for my 2013 trade in at 140K miles, but now I see that it is being advertised for resale at $13999, the nerve of them! But at least they put a new battery, brake pads, oil change, and a half tank of gas in my 2018. So far so good! The red bow photos were my idea haha.

Congrats on the upgrade.

Do yourself a favor and get the extended service plan, or at least put some cash aside for a phaser replacement.

Thanks JasonH...the dealer I purchased it from was a GMC Cadillac brand (the previous Expy owner traded it in for an Escalade ESV) and so they only offered me the EG Assurance brand of extended repair plan....but it was like $4300 for only 24 months and so I declined it because I didn't think that was a good add-on. Is buying a plan directly from Ford the best route to go?

I've seen Flood Ford recommended here several times, but don't have any experience with the Ford plans myself. I purchased a warranty from Fidelity through Carmax when purchased my 2017 EL. It paid for my head gasket replacement, which basically was the cost of the plan. So I wouldn't say I came out ahead, but it did pay for itself. You can shop those plans to find one that is reasonably priced. Dealers make money by marking them up.
