I read that the pwr running boards can be turned off, set to "auto" or set to stay deployed. Have any of you tried this or are aware of this?

You can set them to stay deployed while the vehicle is not moving ( such as car washing, or put stuff on roof racks ) but as soon as you go over 5mph they will fold up automaticaly.
They actually hang lower than the regular running boards so you're bound to hit something with them deployed all the time.
