I have the exact same issue. Never figured it out. And no, it’s not because I haven’t tried hitting the +/- buttons to make them come up.

Meaning… Yes, I’m aware that it has to be in drive.

I have a similar issue. I suspect I'd have to remove the front roof rail mounting point to remove this piece properly. There should be clips under it holding it to the actual body. I bet one of those plastic clips has warped and is too open to hold the piece down. Or one clip could be broken.

On mine, if I push it down, it feels like it is latching in place, but not firmly.

So…my roof panels are lifting off! On top of…
CDF ring replacement (still skips gears)
Gear numbering on instrument panel doesn’t work after CDF replacement.
Rear window squirt doesn’t work (says have to remove headliner to get to it)
