    Are we NO for ignition?

Thanks for the suggestions! I found this video from Ford Tech Makuloco that shows a procedure for removing the passenger side exhaust without lifting the engine. Not sure if it makes it simpler or more frustrating with tighter clearances. https://youtu.be/PR--aWBZ3hs?si=yW-28XOUReH6jkD7

    Are we NO for ignition?

safarigonewrong, appreciate your insight. Here are the parameters I selected on Forscan lite. Please let me know if I’m missing anything. At idle in these screenshots. Will reply with more photos since limited to 5 here.

    Are we NO for ignition?

So I spent some time taking a closer look at the exhaust manifold just now and believe I discovered the issue. Not sure if you can see in the photo, but there is definitely black charring on the head but below the gasket. This really sticks out in person. All the head surface around this and...

In other threads, I have noticed comments about bad reviews for some of these manufacturers. Below are some of the reviews I found. Most of these also have google reviews, but I'm not sure how to include those links. I imagine there is some selection bias going on in these samples. In general...

Thanks for your input kep5niner. I noticed that Jasper offers an engine option that deletes the variable valve timing. Anyone with experience related to this? Here is their description: VVT Delete JASPER offers VVT Delete as an option for the 5.4 engine. The VVT Delete engine option will...

    Are we NO for ignition?

Thank you GaryH. In that case, is it as simple as tightening the plug or is there going to be thread damage associated with the plug working loose like that?

    Are we NO for ignition?

I did some driving this evening with an OBDlink MX+ and Forscan lite running. Recorded 5 misfires heading to the store. 1 on the return trip. Recorded at 2750 rpm and 20% load. I think the popping noise sound might be an exhaust manifold leak. It occurs at a rate matching rpms, but only...

I'm starting this thread for all of us confronting the dilemma - timing job, engine replacement or get rid of the truck. I’ve seen lots of comments regarding reman suppliers (and opinions about them) but not a consolidated thread. I hope this information helps anyone else facing this...

    06 Navigator multiple electrical issues

Have you tried opening up your rockers to see if there is water sloshing around? There are quite a few wires running through there. Maybe this is causing your short? When I first got my exp there was a leak in the rear glass. The gasket(?) that sealed the glass when it was closed had worked...

    Are we NO for ignition?

Thank you. That makes sense, as I have never had an issue getting the RPMs up on the highway. I recall when I had the prior issue with the ignition connection, misfire and limp mode, the OBD scanner told me exactly which cylinder was having the issue. But, it was throwing multiple codes, limp...

    Are we NO for ignition?

Update: Just tried to replicate the sound again in park. Started it cold, let it run for a minute, then gave it gas. Engine won’t rev past ~2750 rpm. Starts to oscillate the tach. Have not noticed this before, but I drive it pretty gently.

    Are we NO for ignition?

Thank you whtbronco, ManUpOrShutUp and SafariGoneWrong for your insight. Agree with your concerns about the mechanic. This shop had recently done some work replacing the yoke and rear differential seal for me, but it was the first time I had used them. I have always done my own tune-ups with...

    Are we NO for ignition?

Hello, I’ve been reading through some older threads, but wanted to make an inquiry. 06 expy, 180,000 miles. 2nd owner, always well maintained. Have put significant highway miles (~15k) towing ~5,000 lb trailer last few years. Recently, I noticed what I initially thought was a small exhaust...

    Air Ride vs Standard Suspension?

Thank you everyone. This helped me know which part I needed. If anyone has a picture of what an air ride suspension looks like, please post it to the thread. It could help a future forum browser looking for the same answer I was.

    Air Ride vs Standard Suspension?

No one has any thoughts on this or has dealt with it before? I searched the VIN but the only thing that came up for the suspension was that "motorcycle suspension type" was not applicable.

    Air Ride vs Standard Suspension?

I have a 2006 eddie bauer expy. Not the original owner. How do I determine whether or not I have the air ride vs standard suspension? Are there easily identifiable parts I can recognize to establish which one the vehicle has? I do not believe there are any dash switches to turn air ride on or...

Ball Joint Replacement - Steel vs Aluminum Knuckles?

I called the Moog technical support line. I was told that the specs for both ball joints is the same and that the "aluminum" knuckle joint k500060 is likely being phased out for k80149. The only difference seems to be the inclusion of a washer with k500060.

Ball Joint Replacement - Steel vs Aluminum Knuckles?

I am going to replace my lower front ball joints. Some of the ball joints for sale on Rock Auto specify steel vs aluminum steering knuckles. I ran a magnet on my 2006 eddie bauer expy and determined that my knuckles are aluminum. Is the difference between the ball joints sold for steel vs...
