I have a 2001 expedition and have replaced the GEM module. after that everything went hay wire such as the cluster reads in 4 LOW and also will not work without the dimmer switch being turned all the way up ( where it would turn on the courtesy lights) so I have removed the fuse for those. I don't know if the GEM module I received is defective or has to be reprogramed, or if its a different issue that has to be addressed

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks!!!

I have been told by multiple people that the GEM's need to be programmed to your truck. Not sure what happens if it isn't, but your issue sounds like it could be a ground related issue.

The Gem units come preprogrammed. I replaced mine three months ago. Did you check your fuse box when you took it out to replace the gem unit. If there is corrosion it would cause the problems you are having.
