… I have a beater 1999 Ford Eddie Bauer expedition 4 x 4… dual air conditioning dual heaters… I have bypassed the front heater core as it started leaking… I thought I had disconnected the rear heater core..,But apparentlyI had not… and the car is leaking coolant at the back… Not exactly sure how to get it to stop leaking in the back… I don’t know if there’s heater hose in and out… if there is, where would I look to tie the two hoses together and bypass the rear heater core???… not sure if I will ever fix the heater core issues… As I am in Southern California and really do not need a heater… So what would my procedure be to find the rear heater core?… thank you very much.

Follow the hoses back (from where you bypassed the front) down to the "T" connectors.
They sit right on top of the engine (passenger side)
There is your rear hoses.

Why wouldn't you fix it? I replaced the rear heater core and it took 90 minutes start to finish. In the dark. Outside. Probably easier and faster to fix the leak than to try bypassing.

… the reason I didn’t fix it… Is the car is Kind of a beater for starters… And I had already disconnected the front heater… And the rear heater was not working anyway… I live in Southern California where it really doesn’t get all that cold… Might cost me a grand or could possibly be way more with incidentals… ‍♀️ to replace both heater cores…the car runs and drives great… it is a four-wheel-drive. Dual air conditioning works perfectly…. So we shall see.

I understand all that, and yes, replacing the FRONT core costs you over a $1,000. But replacing the rear heater core (or hoses) is VERY easy and can be done really fast. I think the rear core cost me $40, and it took 90 minutes to replace. I'm not mocking you, just telling you that replacing it might be the cheapest, fastest, and easiest way to fix it. You simply remove 3 interior panels and open up the HVAC box (just screws that don't rust), undo clamps on 2 hoses, swap the core (it's right there - it's not hidden or difficult to get to), and bolt everything together. No rusty bolts, no difficult places to get to. I am NOT a mechanic, and cannot do big jobs, but I managed it in 1.5 hrs, outside, in the dark. I really suggest you look into it. It seems to me it's easier than trying to figure out a bypass. And why do you say the rear heat is "not working?" Blowing cold or not blowing at all? Because you can replace the rear blower while you are doing all that - it's right there in front of you. Now, I do not have the FRONT heat, because that's taking out a the dashboard, although I think there is a way to get to the front through the glove compartment and dremel tool.

… I am assuming the rear heater did not work as I never heard a blower back there and never felt heat from back there… Never even thought about it till there was hot coolant on the ground back there‍♀️ I don’t know if I screwed something up when I bypassed the front heater core‍♀️… there is also a possibility that I put stop leak in it years ago because it may have been dripping back there slightly… But I can’t remember that for sure‍♀️I do like driving the car… it hadn’t been washed in nine years,… Because I broke my neck about nine years ago … But due to my health improving …I recently rubbed and scrubbed the leather and the carpet… All of it…
… In a couple of years the roof may rust through… It’s got some pretty good rust spots… I probably should find somebody to roll some Pour 15 on there or something like that…
… been looking at used Porsche Cayenne’s… May still buy one of those… My expedition now has a salvage title as a drunk came around the corner hit the expedition and my Dodge ram diesel truck, and Lance camper and totaled all three of them… when I finally come to an agreement with Allstate insurance on the value of my 97 Dodge ram 4 x 4 extra cab 12 valve diesel pick up truck… I’m going to keep the truck… with a salvage title… paint it…Then maybe buy about a 2012-2016 Porsche Cayenne‍♀️
… another thing is I couldn’t have replaced the rear heater core as from when I broke my neck I’m fused together at four levels and could not have crawled up in the back to do the replacement… Used to do all my own work… But all I can do is scrub upholstery I guess …Also somebody stole all of my tools that were in my camper …. Sometimes things just don’t go your way.‍♀️… but you’ve still gotta have fun…

makes sense. BUT, I would still get someone to fix it.
