"I'm having issues with the shifter linkage on my 2005 Ford Expedition (200K miles). Park, Reverse, 1st, and 2nd gears work fine, but when I put it in Drive, it starts to move, then slips, and the engine just revs. Sometimes it won’t start in Park, and I have to put it in Neutral to start it. I checked the hex bolts on the shifting lever, which I heard can cause slop when loose, but they were tight and there’s no slop. Could this be a loose shifter cable? Any tips for a quick fix or further troubleshooting would be appreciated."
