To really know what's going on in order to make a change, your best bet is a Real Time Analysis performed at a mobile audio shop. You can also download an app for your phone or laptop to look at the frequency response. Let us know what you find out.

Sound is a very personal experience. Going with an aftermarket DSP to retune the system to your liking will make a noticeable difference, but that's where your budget comes in. Just the hardware will start around $600 (for an entry level DSP) and go up from there.

There are several threads on expeditionforum about the B&O system that you might find helpful.

I've noticed when I turn up the volume to like 8-12 on trackhs that have a strong acoustic bass, the bass sounds boomy.

Listen to some tracks from Crooked Still's _Shaken by a Low Sound_ ... https://open.spotify.com/album/1MXfI5PVHDjkZJrlM9aFkp?si=E5RmyhTPTeS7Z70KTODHTA ... there's a big gap between hte mid bass of the cello, and the contrabass
Go into your audio settings and adjust the EQ to fit your music. I run surround sound with 7 on treble, 8-9 on bass and 5 on mid. I can crank to 15 with no boom or rattle. My system sounds perfect.
