Here's a no-cost option that was rarely ordered and rarely seen. (Seat Code M) Bet you won't see another.

They were discussed here several times, but nobody had ever seen them. The option was dropped on 2009 models. It included a column shifter and was unavailable with the sun roof. Satellite radio could not be ordered with the bench seat as the module is in the console.

This is a 2008 XLT. The seats came in cloth only -- stone, camel or charcoal. Only stone was available in SSVs. Power driver, manual passenger. That mini-console came from an auto-parts store. The armrest flips up.

Two cupholders slide out of the dash under the cigarette lighter.

The US Forest Service ordered a few of these, along with my heroes at Boarder Patrol.

Personally, I hate the console and center shift. That nearly pushed me into a Mexican-made Tahoe. My 2000 had the split bench.

I LOVE IT. I would trade my center console and the damn fargin center console shifter for that any day!!!! The only thing these trucks lack is a COLUMN SHIFTER! That’s what I much prefer on the Tahoes and Suburbans.

I, too, hate the front seats in my 2007! So, I'm writing to validate you! LOL! I'd give about anything to have my 2001 Expy seats (60/40 with fold down armrest) in my 2007 - if they were the same color! Yep! SSV and Medium Stone. For some reason mine came with vinyl in the back and cloth in the front. And the front collects dog hair like a magnet. Are you saying I have to buy an old Border Patrol vehicle to get a full seat and vinyl up front in my color? Sheeeesh! :)

When I bought my 07 they had an EL with a bench seat. I pretty much ran away from that thing. I hate the bench and column shift

The SSVs came with cloth in the front for comfort and vinyl in the back for ease of cleaning up back seat lice and vomit and for sliding in and out. Most SSV's had the two bucket seats with a space in the middle for the customer to install a custom console.

For 2007 and 2008, the cloth bench was available as a no cost option in both the SSVs and the XLT's. The SSVs were only available in stone, while the XLT could get the bench in any of the three colors.

You should have bought it with the bench seat! Then we could've swapped my buckets, which I hate... for your bench! :) In stone and vinyl and I'd have paid you! :)

Can it slide or collapse or tumble, or do you have to engage in acrobatics to climb into the back?

It's the one thing I dislike about the Gator --- miss the SSV capability of just walking to the trunk without contortionist console-jumping

I have a 2013 XLT SSV and would kill for that!! I just have a cheesy aftermarket canter console that doesn’t match.

LOL! Guess I forgot all about that post! I found a console out of an F-150 and stuck it in between the seats. Same color, too! Looks like it was originally part of the car. NOTE: To those thinking the same thing, tread lightly when installing and use a hook to lift the rubber or carpet in the middle before slicing where your tranny tunnel is. There's lots of wires down there! You need to pre-spot where to drill your console mounting holes or you will get a major headache! :D
