I'm getting ready to swap out the plugs on my 2017 XLT @ 100K miles. Is there a way to test or determine if the ignition coils are near failure?

I'm getting ready to swap out the plugs on my 2017 XLT @ 100K miles. Is there a way to test or determine if the ignition coils are near failure?

There is no way to test the coils to see if they are near failure.

If one or more was weak, or working intermittently, you would have a misfire (or multiple misfires) with corresponding trouble code(s) set - and perhaps a check-engine light.

Coils are not wear items. You replace one if it goes bad. Most never do. But I change the boots between the coil and the plug with each plug change.
